Our mentality is, “we’re in this together.” So, whether it’s locally sourcing a fan-favorite red wine slushie in a gorgeous New York state park or our team volunteering at a cleanup event on the Potomac River, we support all the communities in which we operate.
As we expand, so does our ability to positively impact our planet. Below are a few of our most successful programs.
Guest Services corporate employees volunteer in our Clean-A-Park program annually on Earth Day and have cleaned thousands of tons of trash from various national parks in Washington, D.C. The program quickly spread to other Guest Services divisions and today we have recurring programs and events at properties across the country to help clean rivers, streams, lakes, hiking trails, mountains, and many of the Nation’s most cherished natural landmarks.
Virtually all of our properties offer year-round discounts for veterans, doctors, nurses, and all first-responders, to show our appreciation for those who make up our communities’ backbones.
Going back to our roots, Guest Services contributes its excess profits to charities and 501(c)(3) organizations. It is one of the pillars of our company to give back to the community. The company has donated more than $3 million over the past 10 years through contributions to local, community, and corporate partners such as Culinary Institute of America, national park and state park foundations, various conservancies, educational institutions, and multiple 501(c)(3)s.
In addition, we have donated equipment such as cookware, refrigerators, and other miscellaneous supplies to local organizations. Guest Services’ lodging facilities joined the Clean the World program in June 2010 and in 2020, we donated more than 1,100 bottles and soap bars. As part of another program, we’ve donated 5,000 gently used linens from our property at Mount Rainier National Park to local homeless shelters, including Tacoma Rescue Mission in Washington State.
